Centerville, MA – Nauset Construction and Radius HealthCare announce that the $5.4M Brookside at Regency Assisted Living Facility project located in Centerville, Massachusetts is well underway and is nearly 70% complete. Brookside is Radius’s first assisted living facility in its portfolio of many healthcare communities located throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The 3 story, 29 bed assisted living community will offer seniors the luxury of modern amenities, in a comfortable setting that encourages social activities and new friendships. It will provide its residents a secure environment and a place they can truly call home.
Nauset Construction continues to be an active leader in the construction of senior living facilities, as well as other projects in the healthcare industry. Radius and Nauset have successfully worked together on many previous projects including three other healthcare facilities on Cape Cod.
Christine Bassett, President of Radius, credited Nauset Construction for its high level of professional service and expertise in managing construction in sensitive healthcare environments. “We are pleased to have partnered with Nauset Construction on this significant project. Brookside is well underway and we are very pleased with the value Nauset has provided. Nauset has the experience, knowledge and construction planning processes in place to effectively and efficiently build assisted living communities. We have worked with Nauset successfully in the past and are confident we made the right choice for our premier assisted living facility.”
According to Anthony Papantonis, President of Nauset Construction, “The Nauset team is very fortunate to be working closely once again with Radius HealthCare, and architect David H. Dunlap Associates, Inc. The Nauset project team is fully engaged and focused on ensuring that we remain on schedule while providing the most cost-effective solutions to all areas of the project. The entire team is tasked to closely manage all aspects of this exciting project so that the facility is constructed in the most efficient manner possible with the highest quality and comfort for its residents in mind.”
Assisted living facilities are designed to provide an independent, secure and supportive living environment for elderly individuals. Brookside at Regency will offer 29 apartments in a choice of both studio and one-bedroom units. Blending elegance with the latest amenities, the facility will offer personalized services and activities for adults with Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The facility will include features and technology found in today’s most modern assisted living communities.
One of the many challenging aspects of this project involved connecting the new assisted living building to an existing, fully occupied and operational skilled nursing facility. The 25,000 sq. ft. project includes the construction of a new roof deck courtyard, below-grade and surface parking and the construction of a state-of-the-art, self-contained wastewater treatment facility. Extensive site work is complete including the construction of a new access road and installation of utility services. A comprehensive landscaping scope of work will be completed in the spring of 2009. The building features steel framed construction on a conventional concrete footing and wall foundation and features a composite siding exterior façade.
The increasing numbers of new construction, renovations and upgrades to assisted living communities represents a growing trend in New England healthcare construction as the long-term care industry deals with the rising number of aging baby boomers. The demand for senior housing has grown tremendously in recent years, and the nature of facilities being built is as diverse as the expectations, needs, and income of those who will occupy them.
Nauset Construction is well positioned to offer owners and developers the experience, knowledge and resources necessary to successfully make the investment to undergo a project within the medical and senior living sector, and is aggressively expanding its geographical reach throughout New England.
Nauset also recently completed the construction of three Cape Cod skilled nursing facilities for Radius HealthCare located in Plymouth, Centerville and Sandwich. Nauset Construction Corporation, located in Needham, Massachusetts, is a full-service construction company providing preconstruction, construction management, and design-build services throughout New England.
