Quincy, MA – Nauset Construction was selected by Radius Specialty Hospital for the renovation and conversion of the Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) at Quincy Medical Center. This successful 20,700 sq. ft., 38-bed private room project was the result of a seamless collaboration between Nauset Construction, the project Architect, David H. Dunlap Associates of Hanover, MA, as well as other valued partners within the local subcontractor community.
According to Anthony Papantonis, President of Nauset Construction, “The Nauset team has a lot of experience working in sensitive healthcare environments and enjoys a strong relationship with David H. Dunlap Associates and Radius. This project involved extensive renovations and upgrades to areas that are occupied by patients and hospital staff. We implemented a very detailed phasing and logistics plan to complete the work quickly, safely and with minimal disruption to the people being cared for and working at the facility.”
The multi-phased, fast-track project included renovating and converting an entire floor within Quincy Medical Center on an extremely aggressive two month schedule. The renovation included upgrades to both the electrical and HVAC systems. Patient rooms and common areas also received new upgrades and finishes. Nauset also reconfigured existing spaces and installed new partitions, walls, ceilings, floors, doors and lighting throughout the patient and medical staff areas. New corridor upgrades including lighting and handrails were also part of construction. Other amenities included a new rehabilitation therapy area, staff kitchen, administrative offices and storage rooms.
