Lyndon Center, VT – Design and construction was successfully completed for the new Campbell Dormitory at the Lyndon Institute in Lyndon Center, Vermont. The Lyndon Institute Board of Trustees selected Nauset Construction and Drummey Rosane Anderson (DRA) for this $1.6 million design-build project.

This 16,000 sq. ft design-build project was well underway throughout the winter months and was completed ahead of schedule.

"The design-build approach proposed by the Nauset and DRA team was very appealing", stated Headmaster Richard Hilton. "We were very impressed with Nauset Construction’s and DRA’s experience working together, specifically in the academic area. The Nauset/DRA team presented a comprehensive and unified plan that saved us a substantial amount of time and money. We are very confident in our decision and are extremely pleased with the progress and quality of work being preformed by Nauset, DRA and the subcontractors involved."

According to Carl R. Franceschi, President ofDRA, "Our goal is provide each client with a building that serves their unique needs. We are committed to excellence in design and construction of every building. We were very pleased to have the opportunity to team up once again with Nauset Construction. DRA and Nauset have worked very well in the past to deliver high quality projects in the education sector. Nauset’s responsiveness and skill set are excellent, enabling us to work very efficiently and effectively as a design-build team. The Campbell dormitory is another great example of how our two companies work together to deliver a high quality building that addresses the client’s needs."

The Campbell dormitory provides housing for 26 students and also includes two faculty apartments. The building features a common room, a dining/kitchen area, an exercise room, a laundry, and a computer room. Nauset completed the major site work phase in late fall and began construction in October.

The Lyndon Institute (LI) is an independent secondary school that offers a challenging comprehensive education for grades 9–12. The Lyndon Institute offers programs in arts, sciences, technology, and athletics in a Vermont village setting. Founded in 1867, LI is a traditional "New England Academy" enrolling students from across the United States and the world.

The Nauset/DRA team enjoyed strong working relationships with school officials, the community and some of Vermont’s best subcontractors and suppliers.

The strong partnership between architect Drummey Rosane Anderson and Nauset Construction contributed to the success of prior projects. Both firms worked together on pre-construction planning for the Sage School in Foxboro, MA. The two firms also previously worked together on the pre-construction phase of an $18 million multi-use athletic facility in Marshfield, MA and are actively seeking other joint opportunities. The academic/education sector continues to be very active for Nauset Construction and DRA.
