Centerville - Sandwich, MA – Two senior healthcare facilities on the lower Cape are currently undergoing major renovations and additions while the facilities remain occupied and operational. Repeat client, Radius Management Services, Inc., selected Nauset Construction for its Cape Heritage and Cape Regency skilled nursing facility projects. The construction projects will encompass approximately 52,000 sq. ft at the Cape Heritage facility and 45,000 sq. ft. at the Cape Regency location, with estimated costs of $1.2 million and $1.1 million respectively.

Cape Heritage, a 123 bed skilled nursing facility located in Sandwich, MA, is undergoing major interior and exterior renovations. The 52,000 sq. ft. project includes a new Alzheimer’s courtyard complete with landscaping and fencing. Also underway is the construction of new nursing stations and upgrades to existing nurse call stations. The dining room will be significantly expanded and new cathedral ceilings will be installed, drastically improving the resident dining experience. Existing administrative space will be converted to a climate controlled IT operations area, complete with special static free flooring. The relocation and construction of a new main entrance in the front of the building, including a new concrete entry walkway with a handicap ramp and new aluminum railings is also planned. A new canopy, lighting, and landscaping will be installed at the new entrance. Electrical and mechanical upgrades, as well as improvements to the corridors and resident bathrooms are also part of this project.
Construction is also underway at the Cape Regency Community, a 120 bed skilled nursing facility located in Centerville, MA. This project includes major renovations and upgrades, while maintaining full operation of the facility. The primary construction areas include new administrative offices and nurse stations, as well as upgrades to the existing nurse call systems. Electrical upgrades to patient rooms, a new HVAC system, acoustical ceilings, wall coverings and lighting are also part of the project’s scope. A new exterior façade will also be constructed at part of the facility. Both the Cape Heritage and Cape Regency projects are scheduled to be completed in August 2007.
